When you use Tak, we may collect the following information:

• Account information — your name, email address, and phone number, provided during registration or when posting a listing.
• Listing content — details, photos, and contact information you include in your classified advertisements.
• Talent profiles — if you create a talent profile to list your availability for employers, we collect your headline, skills, experience, education, expected salary range, availability, location, and optional social links (LinkedIn, GitHub).
• Resumes and CVs — if you upload a resume when applying for a job or creating a talent profile, the file is stored securely. Uploaded CVs are only shared with the specific employer you apply to — they are never publicly downloadable or visible to other users.
• Job applications — when you apply for a job through Tak, we collect your name, phone number, email, and optional message. This information is shared only with the employer who posted that specific job.
• Payment information — all payments are processed by PayHere, a Central Bank of Sri Lanka licensed payment service provider. Card details and banking credentials are entered exclusively on PayHere's secure payment gateway. Tak does not collect, transmit, or store any payment card information. We receive only the transaction status and a reference ID from PayHere to confirm your payment.
• Browsing information — your IP address, browser type, and device information, collected automatically using cookies and similar technologies.

Use of Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your account on Tak.
• To publish and display your classified listings.
• To process payments for listing fees and premium services.
• To communicate with you regarding your account, listings, and customer support.
• To improve our platform, features, and services based on usage patterns.
• To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse of our platform.

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties without your consent, except in the following circumstances:

• Listing visibility — information you include in a listing (such as contact details) is publicly visible to other users of the platform.
• Talent profile visibility — your talent profile (headline, skills, category, location, availability) is publicly visible. However, your contact details (phone, email, LinkedIn, GitHub) are only visible to signed-in users. Your uploaded CV is never publicly visible — it is only shared with employers when you apply to their specific job posting.
• Job applications — when you apply for a job, your name, phone, email, message, and CV (if uploaded) are shared only with the employer who posted that job and their authorized organization members. This information is not visible to other employers or the public.
• Payment processing — we share necessary billing information with PayHere to process your payments. PayHere is contractually obligated to handle your data securely.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests by Sri Lankan authorities.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies to maintain your login session and enhance your browsing experience. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, but this may affect certain features of the platform, such as staying signed in.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — view all personal information we hold about you through your account settings.
• Update or correct your data — edit your profile, listings, and talent profile at any time.
• Delete your data — deactivate your talent profile or remove your listings. To request full account deletion, contact us at support@tak.lk.
• Control visibility — choose which application methods (phone, WhatsApp, email) to display on your job listings. Deactivate your talent profile to remove it from public search.

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
